About the author (1994)

H. Vincent Poor is the Michael Henry Strater University Professor at Princeton University, where he is also the Dean of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is a Fellow of the IEEE and is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering and of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, an International Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering of the UK, and a former Guggenheim Fellow. Recent recognition of his work includes the 2009 Edwin Howard Armstrong Award of the IEEE Communications Society, the 2010 IET Ambrose Fleming Medal, the 2011 IEEE Eric E. Sumner Award and an honorary doctorate from the University of Edinburgh.
