Applied Regression Analysis and Other Multivariable Methods

Front Cover
Wadsworth Publishing Company, 1988 - Multivariate analysis - 718 pages
This text is intended primarily for advanced undergraduates, graduate students, and working professionals in the health, social, biological, and behavioral sciences who engage in applied research in their fields. The purpose of most research is to assess relationships among a set of variables. Multivariate techniques concern the statistical analysis of such relationships, particularly when at least three variables are involved. Regression analysis, our primary focus, is one type of multivariable technique. There are also other techniques, some of which will be described in this text. Choosing an appropriate technique depends on the purpose of the research as well as the types of variables under investigation. This text focuses on regression and correlation methods involving one response variable and one more predictor variables. In these methods a mathematical model is specified that describes how the variables of interest are related to one another. IKKE-FULDSTÆNDIGT-INDEXERET.
