Beyond Red Alert – saving livesThe nature has to be always respected . The people have to be always cared and loved. The beauty of the passion of the river Krishna was seen in the year 2019 floods. Highest quantity water flowed in the stream in the century , as could be seen from the recorded data of River Krishna and its tributaries, spanning across the state Karnataka. The river basin saw a vast inundation and devastation . The river broke its own records made earlier. The river Krishna possessed back its encroached land and also it reclaimed stealthily . And ofcourse we are not there to challenge Mother Nature . But respect the Nature and move away well in time and save lives. And efforts were made to bring about a balance between nature and humanity by intervening rightly as Police and by applying all possible knowledge as Engineer.
On a cursory look it appeared to be fine and definite imbalance between humanity and nature. Our duty of protecting life and conserving humanity required a greater commitment and intense discipline . The situation alerted me to think back as an Engineer and encouraged me to devise an action plan that would have farther impact on lives of the people . The one that that could shape up our future vision in balancing the delicate relation between nature and humanity, during Floods . As a responsible engineer , a plan was made . Lots of field data was collected from various sources, from various points . They were collected ,collated , correlated and deeply analysed . The frontier engineering concepts of QUANTUM COMPUTATION was applied in the hour of crisis. The PREDICTIVE ANALYSIS was made to prevent loss of lives . The outcomes of the analysis was transformed and was applied on field terrain . The devastation situation was visualised. The sequence of devastation was also visualised by keeping the reference of time and space . The geological conditions, physical features of terrain , slope of river beds , leeves, bunds , natural and artificial obstructions , catchment area features etc was considered . The time taken by water to reach a specific level in a specific habitat village was assessed . Necessary directions were issued to the field staff on real time basis . The action plan was implemented . The policemen were guided to assist the people in a specific manner . The public was safely evacuated without chaos. Highest quantity of water 5 ,35,000 cusecs flowed in the river stream . The situation could have marooned the civilisation on the river Krishna banks . With all respects to the mother nature , 8 ,66,846 persons iand domestic animals were saved systematically . The necessity was felt to keep the experiences in public domain so that people are educated about the catastrophic situations in the river Krishna basin. In this book, efforts are made to explain the implemention aspects . The people are made to understand the visible factors . Those factors are the transformed outcomes of complex quantum computing and analysis. This would help in understanding the process of evolution of floods and manifestation. The time can be predicted for a approaching imminent devastation . And that time would be the window period for a safe evacuation. The planning and preparations made for flood management, the list of data collection points, the ways of data collection, steps to be taken in real time, locations to be focussed , time for the water to arrive , time to reach different levels of inundation in villages , level identification, tentative people to be shifted , evacuation, where to be evacuated, logistics, etc are all explained in regional language Kannada in a simpler manner for the understanding by people on the river banks . So that timely action can be initiated . The intention is to educate people on floods and explain our responsibility of respecting the boundaries defined by the mother river . Attempt is made to keep the public memory alive and is documented for a farther benefit, in saving lives of the people in future ,in similar situations. . |
