The edition looks at the principles and techniques involved in the production and marketing of high quality seeds in a systematic manner. It contains up-to-date information on the development of the seed industry in India, the principles and techniques of seed drying, seed processing, seed storage, seed testing, and seed legislation.

Several important new additions have been made to this edition: seed production; technology of crops, such as sugger cane, smaller forage crops, safflower, etc. The hybrid seed production technology that is now available for many new crops has also been included.
