FRED D. GRANT.-According to Fred Grant's account, his deposits in and out running up to many millions of dollars, he had an apparent balance of $533,763 85 on May 6, 1884, on which day a check of his for $75 was returned dishonored. Inasmuch as on the 17th of March the account showed a balance is interesting to observe of but $10,344 70, it how in the brief period between that date and May 6 it reached the astounding proportions of $500,000. To ordinary men in ordinary channels of commerce a daily deposit of $25,000 would be considerable, but these were not ordinary men nor ordinary transactions. They certainly were not ordinary deposits. The figures are monumental and are supported by the books.
