N. B. The perfonating or falsely affuming the name and character of any perfon entitled to receive wages of any inferior officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines or marine, or procuring any other to do the fame, in order to receive wages due to fuch officer or Seaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, is made felony, without benefit of clergy, by an act paffed in Ireland, George the Third,

THE officer to whom the within bill is addreffed is directed by act paffed in Ireland, thirty George the Third, cap. to examine the duplicate thereof when prefented, and enquire into the truth, by the oath of the perfon prefenting the fame; and, being fatisfied, he is to tef tify to that purpose upon the back of the bill, and pay the amount without fee or reward; but if he fhall not be able to pay the amount, from not having publick money fufficient in his hands, he fhall note the cause of his refufing payment, and fhall appoint another day, within one month at furtheft from that time, and shall deliver back the bill, fo noted, to the perfon prefenting it. And if, upon complaint to the commiffioners, it fhall appear that the officer to whom this is addreffed has unneceffarily delayed payment, taken any fee, or made any deduction whatsoever, he fhall be fined a fum not exceeding fifty pounds.

V. VII. thereon, and direct them to be examined by the mufter books, if received; and shall make or caufe to be made out, within three days, a remittance certificate for the net balance due upon fuch tickets and fuch certificates, or upon the fhips books for which fuch ticket or tickets shall have been made out, in cafe the ship or fhips fhall have been paid for the time, and which remittance certificates they are hereby directed and required to make out, affign, atteft, forward, and tranfmit, in the manner herein before directed in cafes of certificates made out upon allotments transmitted to them on account of petty or inferior officers and feamen, non-commiffioned officers of marines, and marines, remitting part of their wages to Ireland, and fhall certify the wages to be due and payable only to the faid petty officer or feaman, non-commiffioned officer of marines, or marine, upon whose account such remittance certificate fhall have been made; and fhall also specify and describe the revenue officer who shall have tranfmitted the aforefaid tickets and certificates to the faid commiffioners of the navy, and which remittance certificates fhall be made out in the form herein-before directed in cafes of parties defiring their wages to be remitted to Ireland from abroad, or to the like effect, and addreffed to the commiffioners of the revenue in Ireland.

VIII. X.
