One of the best books I've read so far. Very motivational and puts the entrepreneurial mindset on the right way. Highly recommend it. Easy to read and understand.

You might really like this book the first time you read it. I bet you get more out of it, on the second read.

This book is great at explaining why a lot of small businesses never make the jump from small, self-employed operations to big corporations. Learning lots from it so far, and finding out what my own dominant persona is between "The Technician, The Entrepreneur and The Manager".
While the central tenet of the book leans heavily on "creating a system for your business to be awesome", and while I agree that a system indeed has to be created, I found myself cringing quite a few times every time the "image" of a system comes into my mind. That's because our encounter with this business systems -- complete with the "scripted spiels" advice that is repeated several times in the book -- has largely been negative.
Far too many times I've heard of a script being applied to me that makes totally no sense in the context of the problem I'm trying to solve, whether it's a support call for my bank, credit card, web host, or other products. These companies have "the system" that Michael Gerber seems to worship so much -- but they simply turn me off in knowing that a robotic scripted spiel is being applied to me. 

Nice and direct to the point, really creating business mindset for new entrepreneurs.

A MUST READ

This book, which I purchased on CD, made me think entirely differently about the formation and running of a business. Yes, it was easy to see what Michael was saying, once he had said it, but to truly extract the value of an idea and leverage of it requires more than just hard work and determination. It requires, as I am finding out, systemisation.A fantastic read and well worth the money. 

Totally changed how I approach my role in a team.
Also made me think about how many different types of businesses I might actually enjoy being a part of.Highly recommend it!

This book should be required reading for all new small business owners. I ran a small business for six years, and this book hits the nail precisely on the head. I only wish I would have read it before I started, because I fell victim to all the traps he mentions in the book that befall most small business owners. I worked my butt off at 80-90 hour weeks, except I applied my energy in the wrong way, and my business became a trap both personal and professional. His mantras - the system is the solution - work on your business not in your business - don't get caught up in entrepreneurial seizure - are great wisdom that I will carry forward.
