Every effort having thus been made on the part of the Trustees and their officers to bring the Reading Room to a state of the greatest possible efficiency, it now rests with the readers themselves to give to these efforts their proper effect by care in the use of the books, and a strict adherence to the regulations of the establishment, which are made as well with a view to the comfort and advantage of the readers as to the safety of the collection.
