For nearly a year we have been using your "Lights to Literature Readers." The good opinion I formed of them at the outset has been strengthened month by month. At first our teachers were afraid that the books were "too hard for the grade "but this fear has now entirely disappeared. The selections are so attractive and have so strong an inherent interest that the children are led to attack all dimeulties bravely and to conquer them easily. Our teachers are now unanimous in praising the series.

CHICAGO

There are Maps and Maps

There are two kinds of Maps. One kind is accurate, comprehensive and convenient-it tells the truth. The other kind is inaccurate, incomplete, and incompetent -it is out-of-date and tells only part of the truth. For nearly half a century our imprint upon maps globes and atlases has been equivalent to the "Sterling" mark in jewelry. It has guaranteed excellence. The guarantee is good today. We are constantly revising our maps by the latest and most authoritative information. Our new illustrated catalogue will tell you of our new maps and new edditions. Why not examine it before you purchase.

It may be had for the asking.

When Meyer Rothschild, founder of the great inking house in Frankfort, Germany, died he left something better than wealth-an example that has become a tradition in this noted family. He also left a number of good precepts, among which are the following: "Be prompt in everything."

"Take time to consider, but decide positively."

Dare to go forward."

"Bear troubles patiently."
"Be brave in the struggle of life."
"Maintain your integrity as a sacred
thing."

"Never tell business lies."
"Make no useless acquaintances."
"Pay your debts promptly."
"Shun strong liquors."
"Employ your time well."
"Do not reckon on chance."
"Work hard."
