FROM this short narrative of the present ftate, and future views of the Society of Scots Antiquaries, the reader will perceive, that public virtue, national utility, and the improvement of science, are the fole objects of our affociation. To fhow that many of its members have not been idle in the Literary department; that the generofity of the public has been great, and that the patronage of a gracious Sovereign has not been with-held, it only remains to add the titles of the discourses read in the Society, a chronological lift of the ́members and donations, Lord Buchan's anniversary address, an abstract of the statutes, and a copy of the royal charter.
