Interesting read! In as much as Google would let me read (which is not much), the writer has managed to keep Mani Ratnam in the centre piece of the narrative. Mani Ratnam comes across as genuine and open, baring details of how he got into films a little late, his naivete initially about how they are made. I would love to get my hands on the book soon.
What I find hard to believe is that Ratnam, Rangan do not acknowledge the fact that being from a filmy family one definitely has the safety net and the contacts, help needed whenever one needed to reach out to perhaps anyone in any department. How else would one get an Ilayaraja, Mahendra etc to sign up for a first time director on low budget!? Good one from Rangan though!
