Educational THE PHILADELPHIA TEXTILE SCHOOL OF THE The Department of Chemistry, Dyeing, and Textile Printing has, during the past year, undertaken some important changes in its curriculum, among which may be mentioned the increase of time devoted to Industrial and Organic Chemistry from one year to one and a half years each, which changes have proven highly satisfactory to both the faculty and the student body. A further change is contemplated for the coming year whereby the amount of laboratory work in the study of the various textile fibres will be considerably increased. The new bleach house erected and equipped some eighteen months past has proved to be the most valuable addition to the teaching facilities of the department that has been made during the last decade. No change has been made in the staff of teachers during the past five years, and it is the earnest co-operation of these men, in eliminating antiquated processes and installing the best of modern thought and method, that has resulted in an eminently practical course of study.
