I have read this book with a certain amount of skepticism in the beginning but came out fully convinced at the end. A wonderfully possible chronology of the fate of a missing river. How can a river that has received such an amount of prominence in the Vedas and Mahabharata just disappear today; and it was said to have been such a mighty river during the Vedic and Mahabharata periods! And what of the myth that Ganga, Yamuna, and Sarasvati meet at Prayag near Allahabad? Everything is convincingly explained; by tracing the the events to plate tectonics and natural causes! And every event is scientifically corroborated by circumstantial evidence. A must read for every Indian, an opportunity to be acquainted with early Indian Medieval History. The Indian History that is taught in Indian schools is outdated - an important point to learn and appreciate and correct ourselves.
