The Council invite Applications for the above Professorship, vacant by the death of Prof. E. LOREILLE, B.-ès-L. Paris. The Stipend will be £200 per Annum, plus one half of the Fees from Day Students, and the whole of the Fees from Evening Students.

Applications, accompanied by Ten Copies of Testimonials, should be sent to the undersigned not later than November 30, 1889.

The successful Candidate will be expected to enter upon his duties on January 21. 1890.

NATURAL SCIENCE SCHOLARSHIPS AND EXHIBITIONS. A combined Examination for Natural Science Scholarships and Exhibitions will be held by the above Colleges, beginning on TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19. 1889.

Three Scholarships and two Exhibitions will be offered, the Scholarship being worth £80 a year.

The subjects for examination will be Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, but Candidates will not be expected to offer themselves in more than two of these.

There are no emoluments attached to these Fellowships, but Fellows have equal oppor tunities for research in scientific subjects to those enjoyed by the Bishop Berkeley Fellows.
