1494 “ The first, and the most beautiful, of all the publications printed in capital letters, which came from the press of Laurentius de Alopa." — Dibdin.

The last seven leaves, containing the Latin letter addressed by Lascaris to Pietro de Medicis, who fled from Florence when the French entered Tuscany, are only tó be found in the very few copies which had been distributed before that event took place. It was then completely suppressed.
