For printing this proclamation Grafton was deprived of his patent, and John Cawood put in his room. It is reprinted at large in the first volume of the Harleian Miscellany. 'Soon after the English fled from the Roman Tyranny exercised in England, a learned and excellent letter of the Lady (late Queen) Jane, written to the Apostate Harding, her father's chaplain, was printed in English at Strasburgh: This I make little doubt Aylmer, formerly her tutor (afterwards Bishop of London) was the publisher of, and perhaps the bringer of it along with him from England.'-Strype's Life of Aylmer, p. 11.
