2 A NARRATIVE OF FACTS, RELATING TO A Profecution for High Treafon; INCLUDING THE ADDRESS TO THE JURY, Which the Court refused to hear: WITH LETTERS TO THE Attorney General, Lord Chief Justice Eyre, Mr. Ser- AND THE DEFENCE The Author had prepared, if he had been brought to Trial. BY THOMAS HOLCROFT. LONDON: PRINTED FOR H. D. SYMONDS, PATERNOSTER-ROW. Ry. -Stacks 12-30-40 41779 ADVERTISEMENT. WHILE imprisoned in Newgate, though thoroughly perfuaded I should never be tried, I yet thought it a very serious. duty to prepare for my Defence. It was accordingly written during my detention; and being first ready was first sent to the prefs. In point of order however it was neceffary to be placed the laft: this is the reason that the paging recommences with the Defence. It is likewife neceffary to add, that it must be read under the fuppofition that the trial had proceeded, the witneffes had been heard, and that the pleadings of my counsel were finifhed; for under this fuppofition it was written. 6 6-11-41 MEX Newman-ftreet, Dec. 29th, 1794. |
