About the author (2014)

Sabita Goswami began as a freelance journalist in Assam in 1972. She became a full-time field reporter from 1979, covering the Northeast. She has worked with several national and international media houses, including BBC, Agence France Presse (AFP), Associated Press (AP), Blitz and The Week.
