UNIVERSITY OF MANCHESTER.

A Platt Biological Scholarship of the value of £50 is offered for award. Wanted, TWO ZOOLOGISTS, one of whom must be an entomologist, as Assistant Superintendents in the Indian Museum, Calcutta. salary of the posts is Rs. 500 a month, increasing by biennial increments of Rs 40 to Rs.700 a month. The candidate chosen as Senior Assistant Superintendent will be given free quarters, and will be eligible, at the discretion of the Trustees, for a personal allowance of Rs.200 a month in addition to his salary. Applications should be submitted on forms that will be supplied on reference to the UNDER SECRETARY OF STATE, India Office, Whitehall, London, S.W., not later than November 1, 1909.

COUNTY COUNCIL OF THE WEST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE. KNARESBOROUGH RURAL SECONDARY SCHOOL. Applications are invited for the post of ASSISTANT MASTER at the above-named school to begin work as early as possible.

The curriculum is that of an ordinary Secondary School for boys and girls specially adapted to rural conditions.

Candidates should have been trained for the teaching profession, and should possess strong qualifications in Art. They should also be able to teach Arithmetic on modern and practical lines, in addition to English subjects.

Commencing salary, £110 to £120, according to qualifications.
