TO OUR SUBSCRIBERS.

4. The outside sheet of four pages will be devoted to advertisements, gazettes, legal intelligence and the names of the cases reported in the number with an abstract of their subject matter.

5. Subscribers of £2 per aunum will be entitled to a carefully-prepared Digest of all the reported cases decided in the Courts of Equity, Law, Admiralty, and the Incumbered Estates Court in Ireland, and upon appeals to the House of Lords from the Courts of Law and Equity in Ireland.

In conclusion, the Publisher has only to say, the Subscription will not be an equivalent for the additional expense which he has incurred, irrespectively of the increased value which he trusts this Journal will obtain.

THE LATE LORD CHANCELLOR PLUN.
KET-MEETING OF THE IRISH BAR.

In presenting to the legal professions the first number of a New Series of the IRISH JURIST, the Proprietor considers some explanation of the change he is about to make to be requisite. The IRISH JURIST was first published at a period when the business of the Four Courts, as well as that of every class and profession, was depressed. This difficulty, and that of organizing a staff sufficient--to conduct a journal which would creditably represent professional opinion-to report with speed and accuracy the legal decisions of the day-and last, though not least, the difficulty of persuading the Irish public that an Irish Journal would be upheld despite all opposi tion, until merit should command success-opposed many obstacles to the progress of this Journal; but success has been attained, and the Proprietor, desirous of fulfilling his promises of improvement, and of catering to the wishes of his Subscribers and the Profession, has made the following alterations: 1. The leading articles and reviews are discontinued, to make room for reports of every decision upon questions of legal or practical importance. Each Number will contain at least 20 (and generally 28) pages of reports, each page consisting of two columns, one of which contains as much matter as will be found in two pages of the ordinary reports of the day. For this purpose, the services of an efficient staff of gentlemen, whose names, it is hoped will be a guarantee for the accuracy of their reports, have been secured; and to further increase the professional utility of this" Resolved-That we desire to express our deep Journal, arrangements have been made by which reports, by a member of the English Bar, of the decisions of the House of Lords upon all appeals from the Irish Courts, and upon questions of general importance from the Courts of Law and Equity in England, will appear in this Journal.

2. That undue speed may not be an excuse for error, and to afford to these gentlemen the time requisite for the preparation of reports, which, will be found to be of value and authority, the IRISH JUrist will, in future, be published on the First and Fif

teenth of each Month.
