The book seems equally happy in conception and execution, and must prove no small auxiliary in promoting the increase of responsive worship in non-liturgical churches. Johnson, private secretary of Charles Sumner, presents some more "Recollections" of the Senator; J. B. Drury has an essay on Darwinism; Francis Gerry Fairfield prints an Appendix to his paper on Spiritualism; and among the other contributions we note a story, "A Good for Nothing,' by Prof. Boyesen, author of "Gunnar" and "The Norseman's Pilgrimage;" something about "The Middle-aged Woman," by Mrs. Davis; and a poem by Miss Houston, a daughter of the celebrated Sam.
