LETTER OF ATTORNEY to receive Rents.

KNOW ALL MEN by these presents, that I A. B. of &c. have made, ordained, nominated, constituted, and appointed, and in my place and stead deputed and put, and by these presents do make, ordain, nominate, constitute, and appoint, and in my place and stead depute and put C. D. of &c. to be my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name, and on my behalf to ask, apply for, demand, collect, get in, and receive of and from all and every the tenants or occupiers of all and singular the freehold, leasehold, and copyhold estates whatsoever, devised and bequeathed to me or to my use, in and by the last will and testament of E. F. Esq. deceased, and which said several freehold, leasehold, and copyhold estates are situate, lying, and being in the several parishes of and in the county of, and county of all and every sum and sums of money, rent and rents, and arrears of rent now due and owing, or which shall or may at any time hereafter grow due or become payable in respect of the said estates, or any of them; AND upon receipt or payment thereof, or of any part thereof, good and sufficient receipts, acquittances, and discharges, to make and give for the same; AND in case of non-payment of any such rent or rents, to enter on the premises in the occupation of such of the said tenant or tenants who shall or may happen to be in arrear, and distress and distresses from time to time to make, as need or occasion shall or may require, and such distress and distresses to demean according to due course of law: AND ALSO to commence, sue, and prosecute to effect, any action

or actions, suit or suits at law or in equity, in my name or otherwise, against all and every or any of the tenants or occupiers of the aforesaid estates, for recovery of such arrears of rent; AND GENERALLY to do and perform all and every other act, deed, matter, or thing whatsoever, in or about the premises, as the said C. D. shall judge expedient and necessary, as fully and effectually, to all intents and purposes, as I the said A. B. might or could do if I was personally present and actually did the same; and I do hereby agree to ratify, allow, and confirm all and whatsoever the said C. D. shall lawfully do or cause to be done in or about the premises. IN WITNESS, &c.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I A. B. of &c. send greeting. WHEREAS in and by a certain indenture bearing date the the year 18- and made between me the said A. B. of the one part, and C. D. of &c. of the other part, It was agreed, that I the said A. B. and the said C. D. should become and be joint traders in the arts and businesses of a

of last, and made between me the said A. B. of the one part, and the said C. D. of the other part, the said

co-partnership was mutually agreed to be dissolved; and it was agreed, that the debts owing by the said co-partnership should be paid by the said C. D. and that all persons indebted to the same, should pay the same to him the said C. D. Now KNOW YE, that I the said A. B. in pursuance of the said agreement, and for the better and more effectual recovering, receiving, and getting in the debts and effects belonging to the said co-partnership, HAVE made, ordained, constituted, and appointed, and by these presents no make, ordain, constitute, and appoint the said C. D. his executors, and administrators respectively, my true and lawful attorney and attornies in the joint names of me the said A. B. and of him the said C. D. or in the name of either of us, or otherwise; but for the proper use and benefit of the said C. D. to demand, call in, and receive of and from all and every person and persons liable or intrusted to pay or deliver the same respectively, all and every the debt and debts, effects, and premises, belonging to the said co-partnership, and to give receipts and other sufficient discharges for the same respectively; and to use, take, and prosecute every or any lawful or equitable method, course, or expedient, by action or suit, for recovering, receiving, and getting in the same debts and effects, or any part or parts thereof; and to do or cause to be done every other act, matter, or thing, necessary or convenient in or about the premises, and that in as full, ample, and beneficial a manner, to all intents and purposes, as I the said A. B. and him the said C. D. could or might have done in casethe said co-partnership had not been dissolved, hereby ratifying and confirming all and whatsoever the said C. D. shall lawfully do or cause to be done in and about the premises by virtue of these presents. IN WITNESS, &c.

Mortgage of a Plantation in one of the West India

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, A. B. of &c. sends grecting. WHEREAS, [here recite, fully, the mortgage.] AND WHEREAS there is now due to the said A. B. on or by virtue of the said recited mortgage, the principal sum of £ - [or, the said principal sum of -] together with the sum of £ for interest last, making together the of lawful money of Great Britain. Now. KNOW YE, that the said A. B. for divers good causes and considerations him thereunto moving, HATH made, ordained, authorized, constituted, and appointed, and by these presents DOTH make, ordain, authorize, constitute, and appoint C. D. of &c. (but who is about to depart to the West Indies) his true and lawful attorney for him, and in his name, place, and stead, or otherwise, to demand of and from such person or persons as is or are or shall be liable to pay the same by virtue of the said mortgage, the said sum of £ —so due and owing to him the said A. B. for principal and interest on his said mortgage as aforesaid; and upon receipt thereof or of any part thereof, for him and in his name, or in the name of his said attorney to make and give acquittances and discharges for the same; AND upon full payment of all principal monies and interest due or to become due on the said mortgage, to sign and execute, and as the act and deed of the said A. B. to seal and deliver all such deeds, releases, recoveries, and assurances of the said plantations and premises unto such person or persons as shall be intitled to the possession of the said premises, as his said attorney shall be advised or

think fit; AND in default of payment thereof, or of any part thereof, to take, use, and prosecute all such lawful ways and means by ejectment or ejectments, or otherwise, for obtaining possession of the said mortgaged premises, and compelling payment of the said sum of money, or such part or parts as may from time to time be remaining due and unpaid for principal and interest on the said mortgage as the said attorney shall think advisable; and after having obtained possession, to proceed to a sale of the said plantation, estate, and tract of ground, and other hereditaments comprised in the said mortgage; and upon payment of the purchase money, to give receipts and discharges for the same, and to sign and execute, and as the act and deed of the said A. B. to seal and deliver all such deeds or instruments as may be necessary for conveying the premises so sold to a purchaser thereof; AND after possession, and until such sale for him the said A. B. and in his name, to receive the rents and profits of the said mortgaged premises of and from the persons liable to pay the same, and to give such receipts and discharges for the same, and for every part thereof, as he the said attorney shall think fit and necessary; AND ALSO for him and in his name to appear, and his person to represent in all courts and before all ministers and magistrates of law and equity whatsoever in the said island of or elsewhere in the West Indies, as by the said attorney shall be thought advisable and most conducive to the interest of the said A. B.; AND ALSO for him the said attorney to do all and every such further and other lawful acts and deeds and other matters for the better executing and discharging the powers and authorities hereby given as to him shall seem meet: AND for the better and more effectually executing the several powers and
