THE first edition of this List of Bibliographical Works was drawn up in the year 1880 by the late Mr. G. W. Porter, Senior Assistant Keeper in the Department of Printed Books.

The work has now been revised, and some additions have been made, by Mr. G. K. Fortescue, Superintendent of the Reading Room. In this edition "shelf-marks ” have been added to the original press-marks of all the works placed in the Bibliographical Cases.
