In this edition all the additional words in the Supplement are incorporated in alphabetical order in the first two volumes or body of the work, and the most popular meaning cited. In many cases this may be sufficient for the student's purpose. If not, and the word be one of the additions, he can then turn to the Supplement and peruse those dissertations which throw so much light upon the Literature, Antiquities, and Customs of Scotland.

This is universally admitted to be one of the most important lexico. graphical works published in .any country, and has long maintained a high price in the book market.
