The representatives of nearly every family have accorded the author ready assistance in verifying their respective pedigrees, thus ensuring, as far as practicable, that accuracy which it is always desirable to attain. These Pedigrees differ from those in "Burke's Landed Gentry," inasmuch as they are not condensed, but for the most part extracted in full from the old County Histories, which are now comparatively unobtainable. In some instances the

larger ones contain several families; and as in all cases the younger branches of each family are represented as fully and in the same manner as that of the head of the family, considerable additional interest and popularity is naturally acquired. 24080 GUILLIM (J.) "The author has contrived to amass in this storehouse a vast amount of curious information upon every branch of human knowledge, such as is not to be found in any other work, and of nature peculiarly adapted to the illustration of the manners and customs of our predecessors, from the highest rank to the lowest menial. This is an absolutely complete copy of this rare book, no two copies of which are alike. It contains the Howard Pedigree, the two leaves of explanation relating to it, the leaf containing the Atchievement of a Baron, with duplicate plate, the additional title to the third part, the engraving of Romulus and Remus, all of which are frequently wanting.
