9. C. M. Dr. Watts.

Praise to God From all Creatures.

THE glories of my Maker, God,
My joyful voice shall sing,

And call the nations to adore
Their Former and their King.

2 'Twas his right-hand that shap'd our clay,
And wrought this human frame;
But from his own immediate breath
Our nobler spirits came.

3 We bring our mortal pow'rs to God,
And worship with our tongues;
We claim sonie kindred with the skies,
And join th' angelic songs.

4 Let grov'ling beasts of ev'ry shape,
And fowls of ev'ry wing,

And rocks and trees, and fires and seas
Their various tribute bring.

5 Ye planets to his honour shine,
And wheels of nature roll,

Praise him in your unweary'd course
Around the steady pole.

6 The brightness of our Maker's name
The wide creation fills,
And his unbounded grandeur flies
Beyond the heav'nly hills,

10. P. M. Dr. Watts.

Psalm cxlviii.

YE tribes of Adam join

With heav'n, and earth, and seas,
And offer notes divine

To your Creator's praise.
Ye holy throng of angels bright,
In worlds of light begin the song.
2 Thou sun with dazzling rays,

And moon that rules the night,
Shine to your Maker's praise,
With stars of twinkling light.
His pow'r declare, ye floods on high,
And clouds that fly in empty air.

The shining worlds above
In glorious order stand,
Of in swift courses moye

By his supreme coinmand.

He spake the word, and all their frame
From nothing came to praise the Lord.
He mov'd their mighty wheels

In unknown ages past,
And each his word fulfils

While time and nature last.

In diff'rent ways his works proclaim
His wondrous name, and speak his praise.

The same continued.

ET all the earth-born race,
And monsters of the deep,
The fish that cleave the seas
Or in their bosom sleep,

From sea and shore their tribute pay,
And still display their Maker's pow'r.
Ye vapours, hail and snow,

Praise ye th' Almighty Lord,
And stormy winds that blow,
To execute his word:

When lightnings shine, or thunders roar,
Let earth adore bis hand divine.

Ye mountains near the skies
With lofty cedars there,
And trees of humbler size

That fruit in plenty bear;

Beasts wild and tame, birds, flies and worms,

In various forms, exalt his name.

Ye kings and judges fear

The Lord, the sov'reign King;
And while you rule us here,

His heav'nly honours sing.

Nor let the dream of pow'r and state,
Make you forget his pow'r supreme.
Virgins and youth engage

To sound his praise divine,

While infancy and age
Their feebler voices join.

Wide as he reigns his name be sung
By ev'ry tongue in endless strains.
6 Let all the nations fear

The God that rules above;
He brings his people near,

And makes them taste his love. While earth and sky attempt his praise, His saints shall raise his honours high.

12. P. M. Mr. Merrick.

A general Song of Praise.

YE Works of God, on Him alone;

In earth his footstool, heaven his throne
Be all your praise bestow'd;

Whose hand, the beauteous fabric made,
Whose eye the finish'd work survey'd,
And saw that all was good.

2 Ye angels, that with loud acclaim,
Admiring view'd the new-born frame,
And hail'd th' eternal King;
Again, proclaim your Maker's praise,
Again, your thankful voices raise,
And sacred Anthems sing.

3 Ye sons of men, his praise display,
Who stamp'd his image on your clay,
And gave it power to move;
Ye that in Judah's contines dwell,
From age to age successive tell
The wonders of his love!

4 And you, your thankful voices join,
That oft at Salem's sacred shrine
Before his altars kneel:

Where, thron'd in majesty, he dwells,
And from the mystic cloud reveals
The dictates of his will.

5 Ye spirits of the just and good,
That eager for the bless'd abode,
To heavenly mansions soar;
O let your songs his praise display,
Till heaven itself shall melt away,
And time shall be no more.

15. S. M. Dr. Watts.

Sincere Praise.

ALMIGHTY Maker, God!

How wondrous is thy naine! Thy glories how diffus'd abroad Through the creation's frame!

2 Nature in every dress

Her humble homage pays, And finds a thousand ways t' express Thine undissembled praise.

3 My soul would rise and sing To her Creator too,

Fain would my tongue adore my King,
And pay the homage due.

4 Let joy and worship spend
The remnant of my days,
And to my God, my soul ascend
In grateful songs of praise.

16. P. M.

Praise to the Creator.

Hor worthily praise

OW can we adore,

Thy mercy and power,
Thou God of all grace
With honour and blessing
Before thee we fall,

Most gladly confessing
Thee Father of all!

The heavens and earth,
And water and air,
To thee owe their birth,
Subsist by thy care.
While angels are singing
Thy praises above,
We mortals are bringing
Our tribute of love
