The Receipts Books from its reopening, after the rebuilding on Aug. 4, 1845, to March 4, 1848, after which period the management was disposed of to Mr. Hamblin. The manager during these years was A. W. Jackson, and the stage manager T. (Irish) Anderson. The accounts contain notes on weather each performance, the burning of Niblo's Theatre, 1846, on the indispositions of Actors and consequent change of bill, losses during some of the runs, etc. Among the actors who played during this period are Julia Dean (her first appearance on the N. Y. stage), Julia Turnbull, Mary Taylor, T. D. Rice, E. L. Davenport, Ben de Bar, Dan Marble, J. B. Booth, Jr., “Yankee Hill," Messrs. Cony, Chanfrau, Neafie, Burke, Blanchard, E. S. Conner, Mrs. Shaw, and many others; and special notes are given as to Benefits and Farewell Performances. Written on one of the end papers is a contract to play signed both by A. W. Jackson and Dan Marble, and note as to the pay and engagement of T. D. Rice. (A few receipts wanting.) 2 vols.
