Oscar F. O'F. W. Wilde. S.M. Magdalen College, Oxford, May, '76." Both volumes he has carefully studied and made many highly interesting marginal comments,

thus:

"

Love, the winged boy, the bird lime of the eyes."

Oh, what of the Helena ? "

Quite misses the good psychological analysis."

Perhaps so; but the Greeks attributed to Hesiod a panegyric on women."

Not arrogance, a dread sense of the supernatural."

"Of the eternity of sentiment in In Memoriam.'

"Where is fragment on Peace?

"Omits all mention of Byron's Bride of Abydos." Etc.

These volumes, studied by Oscar Wilde whilst a student at Oxford, undoubtedly helped greatly to train his literary style, and are thus two of the most interesting volumes from his library.
