Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching Ye serve and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and the Lord spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to Christ the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks 5 to God and the Father by him.

Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against

them.

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

ΤΟ

Servants, obey in all things your masters according 15 to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God: and whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord 20 Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

* Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in 25 heaven.

Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; withal praying alsc for us, that God

Walk in would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the Wisdom mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, 5 redeeming the time. Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.

All my state shall Tychicus declare unto you, who is a beloved brother, and a faithful minister and fellow10 servant in the Lord: whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate, and comfort your hearts; with Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They shall make known unto you all things which are done here. Aristarchus my fellowprisoner saluteth you, and Marcus, sister's son to Barnabas, (touching whom ye received commandments: if he come unto you, receive him ;) and Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers 20 unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me. Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God. For I bear him record, 25 that he hath a great zeal for you, and them that are in Laodicea, and them in Hierapolis. Luke, the beloved physician, and Demas, greet you. Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and

Nymphas, and the church which is in his house. Paul's And when this epistle is read among you, cause that Appeal it be read also in the church of the Laodiceans; and to the that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea. Philippians And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry s which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfil it.

The salutation by the hand of me Paul. Remember my bonds. Grace be with you. Amen.

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 15 always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this

The Fruits very thing, that he which hath begun a good work of Right- in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: cousness even as it is meet for me to think this of you all,

because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both 5 in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.

And this I pray, that your love may abound yet 10 more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise 15 of God.

But I would ye should understand, brethren, that the things which happened unto me have fallen out rather unto the furtherance of the gospel; so that my bonds in Christ are manifest in all the palace, 20 and in all other places; and many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear. Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: the one preach Christ of 25 contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: but the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or

in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do re- To live joice, yea, and will rejoice. is Christ: For I know that this shall turn to my salvation to die through your prayer, and the supply of the Spirit of is Gain Jesus Christ, according to my earnest expectation 5 and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. But if I live in the flesh, this is the 10 fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not. For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better: nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you. And having this confidence, I 15 know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith; that your rejoicing may be more abundant in Jesus Christ for me by my coming to you again.

Only let your conversation be as it becometh the 20 gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; and in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an 25 evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God. For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake; having the same
