The Grave that never spake before..
The icy chains that bound the earth.
The lifeless universe obeys....
The Lord is ris'n, he who came
The morning flowers display their sweets..
The pearly light of rising day....
The people that in darkness walk'd.........
There is a river, deep and broad....
The rising God forsakes the tomb..
The saints should never be dismay'd....
The Saviour dies, yet mocks the grave...
This is the day the Father blest....
This mortal life, this living death..
Tho' perfect eloquence adorn'd........
Thou didst, O mighty God, exist.
Thou Judge of quick and dead.....
Thou Saviour, whose mercy and love...
Thus speaks the high and lofty one.
'Tis self prevails on earth....
To thee be every prayer address'd......
Vital spark of Heavenly flame...
Wake and lift up thyself, my heart....
We bless the prophet of the Lord............
We give immortal praise....
We praise thee God, before thee fall...
What have I done, heart searching God?.
When all thy mercies O my God.....
When bending o'er the brink of life..
When gathering clouds around I view.
When man had disobey'd his Lord..
