Welcome to the third edition of The English Majority Text Version (EMTV) of the Holy Bible. This latest edition has unbiased explanatory notes throughout the Bible, to aid the reader in understanding, at various places. The English Majority Text Version draws from the work of Dr.'s Hodges and Farstad, and their text, "The Greek New Testament According to the Majority Text," as well as from Dr. Wilbur Pickering, ThM. PhD. One of the great things about having a Bible that is translated from the majority of the manuscripts that are in existence is their much greater probability of accuracy. The experts in linguistics that put these readings together, and who diligently compare the manuscripts, have hundreds of manuscripts to compare today. The early Greek and Latin scholar Erasmus, back in the early 1500's, compiled his very own "majority text," taking the very best readings of the eight or so manuscripts that were available to him. Today, there are literally hundreds! And in this is what stirs up interest in a Majority Text Bible. It is my prayer that this work will bring honor to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and to our God and Father.
