About the author (2026)

Rejimon Christraj Thekkumpurathu, the author of Absence’s Pain, is an English teacher, poet, and artist whose creative spirit finds expression through words, music, and colour. Born in Kozha, a tranquil village in Kerala’s Kottayam district, he is the son of late Christuraj and Tressiamma. He shares his life with his wife, Jaya, and their son, Christo, who remain his greatest sources of strength and inspiration. Among five brothers, he stands as the fourth — with the fond memories of his late brothers Jose and Roy forever echoing in his heart, while Sibi and Ciji continue to share his familial bond.


A teacher by profession for over twenty-six years, Rejimon has dedicated his life to shaping young minds with the power of language and literature. His academic discipline intertwines beautifully with his artistic sensibilities — he is also a Sangeet Prabhakar from the prestigious Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Prayagraj, a recognition that reflects his deep devotion to the world of music.


Writing, singing, painting, and composing form the four pillars of his creative being. Each poem he writes bears traces of melody and brushstrokes of feeling, blending emotion with reflection. In Absence’s Pain, Rejimon’s verses explore the haunting beauty of loss, memory, and longing — the delicate spaces where silence speaks louder than words. His work stands as a testimony to a life devoted to both teaching and creation, where art and empathy walk hand in hand.
