Ali. Vol. 2d. from the Death of Ali to the expulsion of Gelaloddin from his Kingdom, by Gengis Khan. Vol. 3d. Gengis Khan, and the Monarch's of his House -The Kings and Sultans contemporary with them. Timur and his descendants-The House of Sefy, 'till the accession of Tahmasp in the year of the Hejr 928. (a. d. 1551.)

This copious, rare and excellent Work, contains accounts of all the learned and famous Men, who lived in every Age, 'till the Author's time: a topographical and Natural History of Islands, Rivers, Fountains, Beasts, Birds, &c. The whole is apparently entire, excepting the History of Man before Cayumarus and a very small deficiency at the end of the Second Vol. and is written in a plain good hand. N. B. of Vol. 2d. there are two copies. 203 Tariki Khan Jehan Makzen Afgany. a History of the Afgans, by Khojeh Nametollah of Herat, writen in the reign of Jehanghir, 1020 of the Hejra, (a. d. 1611) The Historian derives the Afgany from JACOB the Pa triarch, recounts the transportation of the Israelites by NEBUCHADNEZZAR, and their arrival and settlement in the Mountains of Ghaur: the conquest of them by Chalid ben Walid, in the Khalifat of Omar: and their Sovereigns and Great Men down to the time of Jehanghir. The manuscript is in very good condition and for the most part in the Shekertah hand.

205 Aalumgur Nameh, the History of Alun Ghir, or Aurengzeeb, during the first ten years of his reign, by Mohammed Kazem, his Secretary. an excellent work in a fine Tálik hand, with his PORTRAIT most beautifully painted, in very good condition, and elegantly bound in red morocco. Dr. Clarke stiles this an elegantly written and interesting work.

206 Maseri Aalumgeeri: being a History of Aurenzeeb, by Mohammed Sâky. This was intended to be a continuation of the last mentioned work, to the end of Aurenzeeb's reign. The Manuscript, in a very good Shekestih hand, is in excellent preservation, and bound in red

morocco.

207 Shah Nameh Ferdoosee: the Book, or History of Kings, by Ferdousee. an Heroic Poem on the exploits of the Kings and Heroes of Persia, from Cayumarus to Yezdegird. This poet is with much propriety compared to

HOMER; and in the East, the works of Ferdousee are as highly valued, as those of the Grecian Poet in Europe. This Manuscript was written at MECCA in the year 1006 (a. d. 1597) of the Hejra; is in an excellent Tálik hand and good condition, and ornamented with beautiful Miniatures.

208 Huft Akleem, or the Seven Climes: being a Geographical and Biographical History of the World, by Amin Ahmed Razy. a very famous and valuable work, in excellent condition and apparently entire. The hand a plain and legible Tálik.

209 Anwari Soheili Cashefy, or lights of Canopus, by Hossen ibn Ally Alwaaz Alkashefy, being an elegant translation of the Indian Work called Kalilah and Dumna, displaying the conduct of a wise Prince, and the advantages of good Government. 2 vols. in a good hand and excellent perservation.

210 Dewani Jamy: the odes of Jamy, a famous Poet: in a neat Talik hand, apparently entire, and bound in Morocco.

211 Dewani Hafiz, the odes of Hafiz: a most celebrated Persian Poet, in tolerable good condition: the hand plain, and the Manuscript seemingly entire.

212 Dewani Shems Tebrizy; the odes of Shems Tebrizy. a beautiful Manuscript, upon a brown ground, apparently entire, and in very good condition, only a little wormed in the margin.

225 FERHUNG JEHANGHEREE. a first rate Dictionary of the Persian Language, by Jemaleddeen Huseen Anjoo, dedicated to the EMPEROR JEHANGHIR.

This work is compiled from forty-eight different Dictionaries, and contains all the Ancient and Modern Words, that properly belong to the Persian, with their true vowels and their several significations, authorised by a quotation from some eminent Author. The Preface embraces a copious dissertation on the Persian Language; and the Manuscript is in good condition and apparently entire. see Dr. Clarke's suppl. To. 1. P. 320, for an account of this most valuable Lexicon.

226 SRI BHAGAVAT. in the Hindostanee Language, and illustrated with numerous Miniatures. a most curious and valuable manuscript, well written in Persian cha racters, and perfect, only part of one leaf torn away,

227 THE ALCORAN. a most beautiful Manuscript of the Arabick original, written in a large and elegant hand, interlined with a Persian translation.

This most superb Manuscript is richly illuminated, entire, and in the finest preservation.

228 Sherah Ali Abul Hasen Almaliky: a commentary on the ordinances of the Mahometan Religion. an ancient Manuscript apparently entire.

229 Heyat Alheivan Alkebry. a very copious and excellent History of Animals, by the Sheik Kemaloddin Aldamiry. in two large vols. a most curious and valuable work, apparently entire, in a plain hand and good condition.

230 The Moalakat. a very good traced copy, being a collection of Poems, by the most ancient and famous ARABIAN POETS; divided into seven books, or classes, each book containing seven Caseideh, or Odes: the first by Amroolkais, and the rest by Lebeed, Zoheir, Antarah, Nabigah, Alferasdek, &c. Original Manuscripts of this curious collection, are of the greatest rarity.

translated into Latin: This ancient, curious and valuable MSS., the only copy perhaps existing in the world, is particularly noticed by Fontanini in his Biblioteca Italiana. In this Manuscript, is an account of the Life of DANTE, written in 1416, wherein it appears that this celebrated Poet had travelled into England and, during his stay in London, lived in Cheapside. At the end of the MSS. it is mentioned, that this translation was finished at Constance, vacante sede Apostolica," and that Nicholas
