Rastell in 1559 edited "A collection of all the Statutes from the begynning of Magna Carta unto the yere of our Lorde 1557, whiche were before that yere imprinted." He was mistaken at the time he made the above note in supposing that these Statutes commenced with Magna Charta. Rastell died in 1565; Sir Rob. Catlyn in 1573; Lord Burleigh in 1598; and Francis Tate (of whom see in Athena Oxon.) in 1616. 1540 1541 1542 1543 This copy of the Statutes does not appear to have been collated by the sub-commissioners for publishing the Statutes of the Realm' in 1810. Indeed, as they have omitted all mention of it, when enumerating the collections of Statutes in this Library, they seem to have been ignorant of its existence.
