1. On the first inhabitants of England, in French verse, written like prose: no title.

Begins (fol. 1a):

[C]i poet home sauer coment kaunt e de quele gent granz geauntz vindrent qe Engleterre primes tindrent...

This poem was perhaps intended as an introduction to the 'history' which follows.

2. A chronicle of England (The Brut) extending from Brutus to the latter part of the reign of Edward II: in French prose, imperfect at the end.

Begins (fol. 7a):

[E]n la noble cite de graunt Troye il y auoit vn fort chiualer e pussaunt e de graunt poer qe auoit a noun Eneas..

Ends with an account of the pillage of the bishop of Exeter's house, in 1326 (cf. Carte's Hist. of England, 11. 376).

A quarto, on vellum, containing ff. 171, with 20 lines in each page. There are catchwords after every 8th leaf, and a later hand has paged the MS. throughout. Date, about 1400.

EUCLIDIS ELEMENTA Xv.'

The figures are drawn with great care, on the margins. The propositions are fully worked out. Some of them have an abstract of the proof noted in the margin or of a second demonstration. There are several propositions introduced by way of commentary or stricture, with figures marked as pertaining ad commentum; the figures following these are marked figurationes Euclidis. The XLVIIth Proposition of Lib. 1. is inscribed 'dulcarnon*,' and the vinth of Lib. II., 'cauda pavonis.'

The text of the Acts is for the most part written in large hand down the middle of the page, with the marginal gloss on either side.

At the end of the MS. is written, 'Iste liber pertinet ecclesie eliensi.'
