The Proprium Sanctorum begins f. 178 as usual with S. Andrew, and ends with S. Benedict, f. 205; f. 206 contains the office in annunciatione sanctæ Mariæ, and the Commune Sanctorum begins f. 207 with the office in vigilia unius apostoli, ending f. 250b in octavo cujuslibet sancti. Another hand gives a few additional offices for S. Anne, S. Mary Magdalene, &c., ending with S. Chad, f. 256 a. From ff. 3-152 is in a XIIth century hand, the rest written in the xivth century.

The Kalendar contains obituary notices of

The first leaf of this very magnificent MS. has a rich illuminated border, and a picture of S. Bonaventura at his desk. It is apparently of French workmanship.

The 'Tabula' follows on 5 leaves. On the last leaf is an extract in a later hand respecting S. Bonaventura from 'Johannes a Trittonheym Abbas Spanheimensis de Scriptor. Ecclesiast.' The first leaf of this MS. also has a rich illuminated border.

A tall quarto, on paper, of 445 leaves.

'AN ABRIDGEMENT OF THE RECORDS in the Tower of London,' from Edw. II. to Ric. III., and of all the Parliaments holden in each King's reign.

It appears to have been revised for the press, but the printed copy, edited by W. Prynne in the name of Sir R. Cotton, does not exactly correspond. Nevertheless the book and this manuscript are the same, except a very few verbal changes and the addition of marginal notes, preface and index by Prynne. Published in London 1657.

The last folio is numbered 435; there are two folios numbered 281, 306, 319, 321, 415, 416, 417, 577 and 578, and one extra folio before 412.

A folio, on paper, containing 194 leaves, numbered inaccurately as 191, written from both ends, in Law-French, in a contemporary hand, the lines varying from 35 to 42 in a page.

Many of the cases are printed in Croke. Reversing the book, at the other end is 'Aileworth's Case,' extending over 22 leaves, and that 'Betweene Harvey pl. and Farye def.,' extending over 18 leaves.

A folio, on paper, containing 365 numbered leaves, the lines varying generally from 26 to 30 in a page, written in Latin, English, and French, in different hands of the xvith and xvith centuries. On a fly-leaf is pasted a small piece of parchment containing an incomplete and incorrect table of contents.

A large quarto, on vellum, 514 pages, of 30 lines each, generally well preserved, but imperfect at the end; handwriting not later than the xith century. Formerly presented to Exeter Cathedral by bishop Leofric, with the title FUL SPEL-BOC WINTRES AND SUMERES (Wanley's Catal. p. 80).

WORKS OF ALFRIC, chiefly HOMILIES, in Anglo-Saxon.

The author describes himself (p. 2) as Ælfric munue and mæsse-preost,' and says that he translated from the Latin of such writers as Augustine of Hippo, Jerome, Beda, Gregory the Great, Smaragdus and Haimo, for the benefit of his unlearned fellowcountrymen. His two Prefaces, one in Latin, the other in AngloSaxon, are printed at length by Wanley (pp. 153, 154), and Thorpe's Homilies of Elfric, Vol. 1. pp. 1 sq. The former preface is dedicated to archbishop Sigeric or Siricius, who was primate of all England (989-993).

The Homilies are divided into two books, of which the first commences (p. 5) with the following title:
