A small duodecimo, on parchment, containing 150 leaves (a few of which are blank), with about 30 lines in a page, written in Law-French and Latin, in a hand of the xivth century. Blanks were left for the initial letters, which have not been supplied. This MS, is not noticed in the Record edition of the Statutes.

DIURNALE SECUNDUM USUM ANGLIÆ

It contains the offices for the diurnal hours throughout the year from Advent to the 24th Sunday after the octave of Pentecost. The Proprium Sanctorum begins f. 70 with S. Nicholas, and ends f. 135 with S. Birinus Episcopus. This is followed by the office 'In dedicatione ecclesie ;' and the Commune Sanctorum begins f. 137 a, with which the MS. ends f. 146.

An 18mo, on parchment, containing ff. 195, with 17 lines in each page. It has illuminated initials. Date, the xivth century. PSALTERIUM CUM KALENDARIO.

The first leaf contains the hymn Veni Creator Spiritus, the next six contain the Kalendar, and f. 7 is occupied with the initial B of Ps. 1, the illuminations being injured by damp.

It ends, f. 195 b, incompletely, Ps. cxliv. 15,

A 24mo, on parchment, containing 160 ff., with 16 lines in each page. It has rubricated initial letters and a few borders. Date, the xvth century.

HORE BEATE MARIE VIRGINIS.

In f. 3 a former possessor has written the epacts, golden numbers, &c. for the years 1585–1595; the Kalendar occupies ff. 5-16; the Hours begin f. 17 with the rubrick ‘Matutine sanctissime virginis marie in honore eiusdem;' in f. 59 the seven penitential Psalms, followed by the 15 Psalms and Litany; f. 82 the Commemoratio Defunctorum; f. 116 Commendaciones Animarum; f. 135 the fifteen Oos; and in f. 148 Bede's prayer on the seven Words in another hand, which has added other prayers, ending f. 157.

In the Kalendar is an obituary notice of Johannes Poulett, and at the end the name of 'Tomas Cordry, vii. Sept. 1584.'

A 12mo, on parchment, containing ff. 489, in double columns with 30 lines in each column. The initial letters are alternately red and blue. Date, the xvth century. There are catchwords at every 8th leaf.

BREVIARIUM [SECUNDUM USUM ROMANUM (?).]

The first five leaves contain the Kalendar, the leaf for September and October being lost. The services for Advent Sunday begin f. 6; and the dominical and ferial offices go on regularly through the year, ending f. 189. The Psalter follows, preceded by the hymns Primo dierum omnium and Nocte surgentes vigilemus omnes, and ends with the Litany f. 276. The obsequium defunctorum follows, and then the Officium beate Marie, and the Officium novit. ordinatus. The series of rubricks respecting the feasts (written in black, but scored under with red ink, as are all the rubricks in this MS.) follows, f. 289, and the Proprium Sanctorum begins f. 294 with the Vigil of S. Saturninus, ending with beatus Petrus Alexander f. 465. A short hore beate Virginis Marie a crastino octavum epiphanie usque ad purificationem' follows: then f. 467, the Benedictio salis et aque; and in f. 469, the Commune Sanctorum, with which the MS. ends f. 489.

A leaf is lost between ff. 308 and 309. The MS. is bound in morocco by Hering, and has a silver-gilt clasp; it was formerly in the possession of the Rev. J. Hildyard, late Fellow of Christ's College, whose name is in the beginning, with the date 1839.
