X. XII. And, in order to regulate the payment of the yearly duty impofed by this at, during the continuance of the policies of infurance within this act which shall be granted after the faid twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand feven hundred and eighty two; be it further enacted, That the perfon or perfons who for the time being fhall be intitled to the benefit of any fuch policy, shall, at the end of the year, for which fuch policy fhall be granted, or within fifteen days thereafter, and fo at the end of every fublequent year, during the continuance of fuch policy, or within fifteen days thereafter, pay, or caufe to be paid, to the infurer or infurers in fuch policy, one year's duty, in respect of this act,

XIV. XVI. Claufe relative to infured perfons not refident in Great Britain

XVII. Provided alío, and be it further enacted, That in refpect to all policies of infurance which shall be fubfifting before the paffing of this act, if the infured perfon or perfons in any fuch policy fhall, at the time of the paffing of this act, not be in any part of Great Britain, all and every fuch perfon and perfons thall have one month, to be computed from his, her, or their return, for making the first payment of the duty which fhall become due from fuch perfon or perfons by virtue hereof; and in the mean time, and until the expiration of one month from the day of his, her, or their return, the policy and policies of all and every fuch perfons, notwithstanding any default of payment of the duty impofed by this act, fhall be in full force as if this act had not been made.

XVIII. Gazette, deliver, or caufe to be delivered to the faid commiffioners, or to the perfon or perfons appointed by them for the purpose of receiving the fame, at the head office of the faid commiffioners, true copies of the account's herein-before directed to be kept by fuch licensed infurance office or offices, body or bodies politick or corporate, or such other licensed person or perfons, for the quarter which fhall be completed before fuch day of delivery, or notice, as the cafe fhall be; and at the fame time shall pay fuch fum and fums which fhall appear to be due on fuch accounts to the receiver-general for the time being of the duties on ftamped vellum, parchment, and paper, or to the proper officer for the time being for receiving the faid duties, for the ufe of his Majefty, his heirs and fucceffors, at the said head office, upon pain of forfeiting for every default in not delivering true copies of fuch account, the fum of five hundred pounds, and for every default in payment of the monies due on fuch accounts, double the amount of the money fo due and payable at the time of such default.

XXII. And be it further enacted, That all and every infurance office or offices, body and bodies politick or corporate, and other person and perfons, which or who fhall, under this act, obtain any licence for an office of infurance, not within London or Westminster, or within five miles of either of them, without having any office within the faid limits named in fuch licence, diftant from hall, on the twenty-ninth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two, or within two months after, deliver to the head diftributor of stamped vellum, parchment, and paper, in and for the county in which fuch perfon or perfons, body or bodies politick or corporate, fo to be licensed, shall have their chief office of infurance, or to the perfon or perfons duly authorized and commiffioned, under the hands and feals of three of the faid commiffioners for ftamp-duties, to receive fuch accounts, and the money due thereon, a faithful and true account, in writing, of all fuch policies of infurance as aforefaid as fhall have been iffued by fuch licenfed perfon or perfons, or body or bodies politick or corporate, and fhall, on the faid twentyninth day of September, one thousand seven hundred and eightytwo, or within two months after, be outstanding, or be accountable for under this act; and fhall, at the fame time, pay all the monies which fhall have been received by them refpectively, on account of the aforefaid duties, before the faid twenty-ninth day of September; and from thenceforth fhall, fome time within two months after the twenty-fifth day of December, the twenty-fifth day of March, the twenty-fourth day of June, and the twentyninth day of September, in every year, or at fuch other times after the expiration of the faid two months as may be appointed by the head diftributor, or the perfon or perfons fo to be authorized to receive the faid duties, giving a previous notice of fourteen days, or more, by advertisement in the London Gazette, or in the newspaper, if any fuch there be, published in and for the county where fuch head diftributor refides, deliver, or caufe
