The "JAPANESE PICTURE-BOOKS" will serve as a medium to usefully occupy the attention of children and enlarging the knowledge of grown people, giving them ideas of life and scenes of Japan, and thus fostering their natural sense of collecting valuable impressions to their mind of one of the most interesting foreign countries. The natural beauty and peculiar manner in which these books are gotten up will make them desirable wherever offered to the public.

These Looks, being printed on very fine plant-paper, are quite light in weight, although some of them are large in size. The postage on any of them does not exceed five cents per volume, while the postage on some of the lowerpriced volumes is only one-half a cent each.

on receipt, and that so many of them remain unfilled. We beg to assure you, however, that in a few days we expect to clear our file of all orders, and hope to keep up with all that we receive, and fill at once. We had expected a big demand, but the orders surpass our most sanguine expectations, and the support of the trade is the most gratifying. It shows most conclusively that the aspersion so often cast upon them "of their slowness and awful conservatism" is unjust, for no publisher could ask for a heartier response from the trade than we have had.

The demand from every section of the country, from the largest city to the smallest hamlet, for these Campaign Books has been astounding. It shows the public interest in the question. It shows that both parties made the right move in throwing all their ability into these two books, and offering them to the Public. Never in our history has the public been so deeply interested in matters of National Policy as at this time, and never before has the literature on the subject been of so high character and so ably presented.

The trade are alive to this. They have determined to take advantage of it, and push their business. We are ready to do all in our power to aid them. Politics, as they say, are now Red Hot. This is the Harvest-time for the Bookseller. You can get your local papers to support you, if you sell the books, Both parties would jump at the chance, and you tread on no one's toes politically, for you are on both sides of the fence, and therefore safe. The Public Speaker will gladly call attention to the book. All the politicians and interested citizens of your locality will be delighted to know you have them. Spread your circulars broadcast at all meetings; they will be pleased with your enterprise. Use your own judgment how you personally recommend one before the other. make a good profit on every book you sell. You can order one or a thousand at a time. Consider this at once. Don't delay. Bear in mind, the Hotter the Politics get, the greater the demand for the books and the harder it will be to supply them. But we have made arrangements to double and triple our facili. ties to publish and deliver. We hope to be prepared, even if every one of the Ten Million of voters should order a copy at once. We calculate on ten per cent., and we are rapidly on the road to that number. You can order at any of
