Of Sanctification.

Hey who are effectually called and regenerated, having a new Heart and a new Spirit created in them; are further fanctified really and perfonally, thro' the Vertue of Chrift's Death and Refurrection a, by his Word and Spirit dwelling in them b; the Dominion of the whole Body of Sin is deftroyed c, and the feveral Lufts thereof are more and more weakned and mortifiedd, and they more and more quickned and ftrengthned in all faving Graces e, to the Practice of true Holiness, without which no Man fhall fee the Lord f.

Of Saving Faith.

He Grace of Faith, whereby the Elect are enabled to believe to the faving of their Souls a, is the Work of the Spirit of Christ in their Hearts b; and is ordinarily wrought by the Miniftry of the Word c; by which alfo, and by the Administration of the Sacraments and Prayer, it is increased and strengthened d.

II. By this Faith, a Chriftian believeth to be true, whatsoever is revealed in the Word, for the Authority of God himself speaking therein e; and acteth differently upon that which each particular Paffage thereof containeth, yielding Obedience to the Commands f, trembling at the Threatningsg, and embracing the Promifes of God for this Life, and that which is to come h. But the principal Acts of faving Faith are, Accepting, Receiving, and Refting upon Chrift alone for Juftification, Sanctification, and eternal Life, by vertue of the Covenant of Grace i.

III. This Faith is different in Degrees, weak or ftrong k; may be often and many Ways affailed, and weakened, but gets the Victory, growing up in many to the Attainment of a full Affurance through Christ m, who is both the Author and Finisher of our Faith n.
