58 Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor,
59 And Maarath, and Beth-auolh,and Eltekon ; six cities with their villages:
60 Kirjath-baal, which is Kirjathjearim, and Kabbah; two cities with their villages:
61 In the wilderness, Beth arabah, Middin, and SecacaJi,
62 And Nibshan,and the city of Salt, and En-gedi; sue cities with their villages.
63 IT As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could no': drive them out: bui the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem unto ibis day.
AND the lot ol the children of Joseph fell from Jordan by Jericho, unto the water of Jericho on the east, to the wilderness that goetli up from Jericho throughout mount Beth-el,
2 And goeth out from Belh-el to Li and passetb along unto the borders Arcbi to Ataroih,
3 And goetli down westward to the coast of Japhleti, unio the coast of Beth-horon the nether, and to Gezer: and the goings out thereof are at the

5 IT And Ihe border of the children of Ephraiu according to their lamihcs was thus: even the border of their inheritance on the east side was Ataroihadar, unto Beth-horon the upper;
6 And the border went out toward the sea to Michmelhab on the north side; and the border went about eastward unto Taanatb-shilob, and passed by it on the cast to Janohah;
7 And it went down from Janohah to Ataroih, and toNaarath, and came to Jericho, and went out at Jordan;
5? The border went out from Tappuah westward unto the river Kanah; and

THERE was also a lot for the tribe of Manasseh; for be was the fustbom of Joseph; to wit, for Machii the first-born of Manasseh, the father of Gilead; because he was a man o( ar, therefore he had Gilead and Bashan.
2 There was also a lot for the rest of the children of Manasseh by their farolies; for the children of Abiezer, and for the children of Heh-lc, and for the children of Asriel,and for the children of Shechem, and lor the children of Hepber, and for the children of Shemidah : these were the male children of Manasseh, the son of Joseph, by their families.
3 H But Zidophehad, the son of Heplier, the son ol Gilead, the son of Machir,lheson of Manasseh, had no sons, but daughters; and these arc the names of his daughters, Mahlah, and Koab, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4 And they came near before. Eleazar the priest,aud before Joshua the son of Nun, and before the princes, saying, [The Lonn commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brethren: therefore, according to the commandment of the Loud, he gave them an inheritance among the brethren of their father.
5 And there fell ten portions to Malasseh, besides the land of Gilead and
Bashan, which were on the other 6ide Jordan;
6 Because the daughters of Manasseh had an inheritance among his eons: and the rpst oi'Manasseh's'sons had the land of Gilead.

9 And the coast descended unto the river Kanah, soutliward of tin these cities of Ephraim are among tiie cit ies of Manasseh: the coast of Manasseh also was on the north side of the river, and the outgoings of it at the sea.
10 Southward ic ivas Ephraim's, and northward it was Manasseh's, and the sea is his border; and they met togetli er in Asheron the north, and in lssachar on the east.
11 And Manasseh had in Issachar and in Asher, Beth-shean and hei towns, and Ibleam and her towns, am the inhabitants of Dor and her towns and the inhabitants of En-dor and hei towns, and the inhabitants of Taanaeh and her towns, and the inhabit:.! Megiddo and her towns, even three countries.
12 Yet the children ofManasseh couli not drive out t/ie inhabitants o/tbosi cities ; but the Canaaoites wouid dwell in that land.
13 Yet it came to pass, when the chi dren of Israel were waxen strong,that they put the Canaanites to tribute; but did not utterly drive them out.
14 IT And the children of Joseph spake unto Joshua, saying, Why hast thou given me Intt one lot and tion to inherit, seeing [ am a great people, forasmuch as the Lord hath blessed me hitherto?
16 And Joshua answered them, If thou be a great people, then get thee up to the wood-country, and cut down for thyself there in tlie land o" jie Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Eph raim be too narrow for thee.
16 And the children of Joseph said. The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron, both they who are of Beth-shean and her towns, and they v/bo are of the valley of Jexreel.
17 And Joshua spake unto the house of Joseph, even to Ephraim and to Manasseh, saying, Thou art a great people, and hast great power; thou shah not have one lot only:
18 But the mountain shall be thine; Cor it i; a wood, and thou «halt cut it I

down; and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots, although they be strong.
CHAP. XVIIL A ND the whole congregation of the xX children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh.and setup the tabernacle of the congregation there: and the land was subdued before them.
2 11 And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which lad not yet received their inheritance.
3 And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long arc ye slack to go

4 Give out from among you three nen for each tribe; and 1 will send hem, and they shall rise, and gc
through the land, and describe it, according to I he inheritance of them; ind they shall come again tome. 6 And they shall divide it into seven •arts: Judah shall abide in their coast ■n the soutn, and the house of Joseph shall abide in their coast on the north. 6 Ye shall therefore describe the land into seven parts, and bring the descinphither tome, that 1 may cast Jots for you here before the Loan our God. lut the Levites have no part among ; for the priesthood of the Loud is •inheritance: and Gad, and Reuben, and half the tribe of Manasseh, ?ived their inheritance beyond Jordan on the east, which Moses the servant of the Lord gave them. 8 TT And the men arose, and went L\vay : and Joshua charged them that went to describe the land, saying,Go, - nd walk through the land, and de.ribeit, and come again to me, that I iny here cast lots for you before the Lord in Shiloh.
And the men went, and passed through the land, and described it by into seven parts in a book, and again to Joshua to the host at Sluloh.

L2 And their border on the north side was from Jordan.- and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Beth-aven.
13 And the border went over from thence toward Luz, to the side of Luz, (which is Bethel,) southward; and the border descended to Ataroth-adar, near the hill that Hclh on the south aide of the nether Beth-horon.
14 And the border was drawn thence, and compassed the corner of the sea southward, from the hill that lieth before Beth-horon southward ; and the goings out thereof were at Kirjathbaal, (which is Kirjath-jearim,) a city of the children of Judah. This was the west quarter.
15 Aud the south quarter ivas from the end of Kirjath-jearim, and the border wentouton the west,and went out to the well of waters of Nephtoali.
16 And the border came down to the end of the mountain that Heih before the valley of the son of Hinnom, and which is in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusion the south, and descended to En-rogel.
17 And was drawn from the north, and went forth to Eushemesh, and went forth toward Gcliloth, which is over against the going up of Adummiin, and descended to the stone of Bohan, the son of Reuben,
18 And passed along toward the side over against Arabah northward, and went down unto Arabah.
J 9 And the border passed along to the side of Belh-hoglah northward: and the outgoings of the border were at the north bay of the salt sea, at the south end of Jordan. This was the south coast.
20 And Jordan was the border of it on the east side. This was the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, by the coasts thereof round about, according to their families.
21 IT Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families, vere Jericho.and Bethboglah, and the valley of Keziz,
XIX. Lot nj Simeon.
22 And Belh-arabah, and Zeuiaraira, and Beth-el,
23 Aud Avim, and Parah, and Ophrah,
24 And Chepbar-haammonai, and Ophni, and Gaba: twelve cities with their villages.
25 Gibeon, and Ramah, and Beeroth.
26 And Mizpeh, and Chephirah, and Mozah,
27 And Rekem, and Irpeel, and Taralah,
28 And Zelah, Eleph, and Jehus-,, (which is Jerusalem,) Gibeath, and Kiijath: fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the children of Benjamin, according to their families.
CHAP XIX. A ND the second lot came forth to JrY Simeon, even for the tribe of the children of Simeon, according to their families: and their inheritance was within the inheritance of the children of Judah.
2 And they had in their inheritance Beer-Sheba, and Sheba, and Moladah,
3 And Hazar-sbual, and Balah, and Azem,
4 And Eltolad, and Bethul, and Hormah,
5 And Ziklag, and Beth-marcabolb, and Hazar-susah,
6 And Beth-lebaoth, and Sharuhen: thirteen cities and their villages.
7 Ain, Reramon, and Ether, and Ash an: four cities and their villages:
8 And all the villages that iwrt round about these cities to Baalath-beer, Ramath of the south. This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon, according to their families.
9 Out of the portion of the children of Judah ivas the inheritance of the children of Simeon: for the part of the children of Judah was too much for them: therefore the children of Simeon had their inheritance within tht inheritance of them.
101T And the third lot came up for the children of Zebulun, according to their families; and the border of their inheritance was unto Sarid.
11 And their border went up toward the sea, and Maralah, and reached to Dabbasheth, and reached to the river that is before Jokneam;
12 And turned from Sarid eastward, .toward the sun -riding, unto the border
Lot or Jssachar, JOSHUA, of Chisloth-tabor, and then goeth out to Daberath, and goeth up to Japhia,
13 And from thence passethon along j on the east to Gittah-hcpher, to Utah-' kazin, and goeth out to Rennnonthoar, to Neah;
14 And Hie border compasseth it on the north side to Ilannatlion; and tlit outgoings thereof are in the valley of Jiplitliah-el;
15 And Kattath, and Nahnllal, and Shimron, and Idallah.and Betli-lehcm: twelve cities with their villages.
16 This is the inheritance of' Hie children of Zebulun, according to their families, these cities with their villages.
17 IT And the fourth lot came out to Issachar, for tlie children of Issachar, according to their families.
18 And their border was toward Jezrecl, and Cliesulloth, and Sluinem,
19 And Hapharaim, and Shihon, and Analiarath,
20 And Rabbith, and Ktshion, and Abcz,
21 And Remeth, and En-gannim, and En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez;
22 And the coast reacheth to Tabor, and Shahazimah, and Beth-shemesh; and the outgoings of their border were at Jordan: sixteen cities with their

25 Arid their border was Helkal.li, and Mali, and Beten, and Achshaph,
26 And Alammelech, and Amad, and Mishael; and reacheth to Caruiel westward, and to Shihor-Iibnalh;
27 Andturneth toward the sun-rising to Beth-dagon, and reacheth to Zebulun, ami to the valley of Jiphllmth-el toward the north side of Belh-emek, and Neiel, and goetli out to Cabul on the luft hand:
28 And Hebron, and Rehob.andHammori.and Kanali, even unto great Zidou:
29 And ihcn the coast turneth to Ramuh, and to the strong city Tyre: and the c jast turnelh to Hosah; and the outgoings thereof are at the sea from the coast to Aehzib ■

33And their coast was from Heleph from Allon to Zaanannim,and Adami Nekeb,and Jabneel, untoLakum; am lulgoings thereof were at Jor

35 And the fenced cities arc Ziddin Ser, and Hammath, Kakkath, an. rinneroth,
36 And Adaniah, and Raniah, an.
39 And Kedesh, and Edrei,and En

42 And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,

44 And Eltckeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,
45 And Jeliud, and Bene-berak, and Gathiiniinon,
46 And Me-jarkon, and Rakkon,\vith the border before Japho.

48 Thisw the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Dan, according to their families, these cities with their villages.
49 IT When they had made an end of dividing the land for inheritance by their coasts,the children of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun among them:
.00 According to the word of the Loud, they gave him the city which j he asked, aw Timnalh-serali in mount Ephraim: and he built the city,and dwelt therein.
51 These arc; the inheritances.which Eleaxar the priest,and Joshua the son of Nun,and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel,divided for an inheritance by lot in Shiloh before the Lord,at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, they made an end of dividing the country.

2 Speak to the children oflsrne.l,saying, Appoint out for you cities ol refuge, whereof 1 spake unto you by the hand of Moses;
3 That the slayer that killeth any person unawares, and unwittingly may dee thither: and they shall bi your refuge from the avenger of blood
4 And when he that doth flee unu one of those cities shall stand at the entering of the gate of the ciV shall declare his cause in the ears of the elders of that city, they shall tak him into the city unto them, and giv him a place, that he may dwell anion, them.
f> And if the avenger of blood pursue after him, then they shall not di the slayer up into his hand; be< jbe smote Ins neighbour unwittingly, land hated him nof befbreUme. '6 And he shall dwel! in thp.t city,i til he at and before the congregation judgment, and until the death of the high priest that shall be in thosthen shall the slayer return, and come unto his own city, and unto hi house, unto the city Irom whence he fled.
7 IT And they appointed Kedeah i Galilee in mount Naphlali, and Slu

And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward,they assigned liezcr in the wilderness upon the plain outof the tribe of Reuben, and Ranioth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. 9 These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, untU he stood before the cou;regalion.
THEN came near the heads of the fathers of the Levites unto Eleaar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and untc the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel:
And they spake unto them at Shiloh in the "land of Canaan, saying. The Lord commanded, by the "hand of Moses, to give us cities to dwell in, with the suburbs thereof for our cattle.
3 And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites, out of their inheritance, at the commandment of the Lord, these cities and their suburbs.
4 And the lot came out for the families of the Kohat.hiles; and the children of Aaron the priest, which were of the I.eviles, had by lot, out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of Simeon, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5 And the rest of the children of Kohath had bv lot, out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim. and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6 And the children of Gershon had by lot, out of the families of I he tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali. and out of the half-tribe^ of Ma nassch in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7 The children of Merari, by their families, had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tiibe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
