4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the Lord spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there unto the Lord.
6 IT And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man unto his inheritance to possess die land.
7 And the people served the Lord all he days of Joshua, and all 1 he days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the Lord that he did for Israel.
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died, being a hundred and ten years old.
9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the mounlof Ephraim, on the north

15 Whithersoever they went out, the hand of the Lord was against them for evil, as the Lord had &aid, and as[ the Lord had sworn unto them: and they were greatly distressed.
16 Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
17 And yet they would not hearken unto their judges, but they went a I whoring after other gods, and bowed themselves unto them: they turned quickly out of the way which theirl fathers walked in, obeying the com-' mandmenls of the Lord ; but they did not so.
IS And when the Lord raised the: up judges, then the Lord was with the judge, anil delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for it repented the Lord because of their groanings, by reason of them that oppressed them, and vex ed them.

2-2 That through them 1 may prove Israel, wheilier the}' will keep the way of the Lord, to walk therein, as their fathers did keep if, or not.
23 Therefore the Lord left those nations, without driving them out hastily; neither delivered he them into the Hand of Joshua.
NOW these are the nations which
knew nothing thereof,-)
3 Namely, five lords of the Philistines, and all the Canaanites, and the Sidonians, and the Hivites that dwelt in mount Lebanon, from mount Baalhermon unto the entering in of Hamath.

8 TT Therefore the s.ngcr of the Lord was hot against ljracJ, and he sold them into the hand of Cushan-rishathaiin king of Mesopotamia: and the children of Israel served Cushan-rishathaim eight years.
9 And when the children of Israel cried unto the Lord, the Lorn raised up a deliverer to the children oflsrael, who delivered them, even OUiniel the son of Kenaz,Caleb's younger brother.
10 And the Spirit of the Lord came upon him, and he judged Israel, and w-nt out to war: and the Lord delivered Cushan-rishalhaim king of Mesopotamia into his hand ; and his hand prevailed against Chushan-risliatliaim.
11 And the land had rest forty years: and Othniel the son of Kenaz died.

13 And he gathered unto him the chil dren of Amnion and Amalek, and went and smote Israel, nnd possessed the city of palm-trees.
14 So the children of Israel served Eglon the king of Moab eighteen years.
15 But when the children of Israel crie.d unto the Lord, the Lord raised

18 And when he had made an end toI oner the present, he sent away the] people that bare the present

23 Then Ehud went forth through the porch, and shut the doors of tho parlour upon him, and locked them.
24 When he was gone out, his servants came: and when they saw that, behold, the doors of the parlour were locked, thev said, Surely he covereth Ins leet in his summer chamber.
25 And thev tarried till thev were ashamed : and, behold, he opened not the doors ol the parlour; therefore thev took a kev, and opened them:

29 And they slew of Moab at that time about ten thousand men,all lusty, and all men of valour; and there escaped not a man.
30 So Moab was subdued that day under the hand of Israel. And the land had rest fourscore years.
31 17 And after him was Shamgar the son of Anath, which slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox
and he also delivered Israel.
AND the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord, when Ehud was dead.
2 And the Lord sold them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor; the captain of whose bostjotw Sisera, which dwelt inHarosheth of the Gentiles.
3 And the children of Israel cried unto the Lord : for he had nine hundred chariots of iron : and twenty years he mightily oppressed the children of Israel.
4 If And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.
A.nd she dwelt under the palm-tree of Deborah between Ramah and JBeihel in mount Enhraim: and the chil dien ol Israel came up to her for judgment.
6 And she sent and called Barak the son ol Abmoam out ol Kedesh-naphtah, find said unto lum, Hath not the Lord God ol Israel commanded,sat/ mg, Go and draw toward mount la bor, and take with thee ten thousand men of the children of Naphtah, and ol the children ol /ebulun;

11 Now Heber the Kenitc, which v of the children of Hbbab the fatherlaw of Moses, had severed himself from the Kenites, and pitched his tent| Onto the plain of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh.
12 And they she wed Sieera that Barak the son of Abinoam was gone up to mount Tabor.
13 And Sisera gathered together all his chariots, even nine hundred chariots of iron, and all the people that ivere with him, from Harosheth of the) Gentiles unto l"he river of Kishon.
14 And Deborah said unto Barak, Up; lor this is the day in which the Lord hath delivered Sisera into thy hand: not the Lord gone out before thee? So I Barak went down from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men alter him.
15 And the Lord discomfited Sisera., and all Aw chariots, and ai!/iw hostj with the edge of the sword before Barak ; sothaf Sisera lighted down off Aw chariot, and lied away on his feet.
16 But Barak pursued after the chariots, and after the host, unto Haroshetli of the Gentiles: and all the host of Sisera fell upon the edge of the sword; and there was not a man left
17 Howbeit Sisera (led away on his feet to the tent of Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite: for there was peace between Jabin the king of Hazor and the house of Heber the Kenite.
18 TT And Jael went out to meet Si sera, and said unto him, Turn in, nv lord, turn in to me; fear not. And when he had turned' in unto'lier into the tent, she covered him with a tie.
19 And he said unto her, Giv I pray thee, a little water to drink; fur I am thirsty. And she opened a bottle of milk, and gave him drink,
, and covered him.
20 Again he said unto her, Stand in the door of the tent, and it shall be, when any man doth come and inquire of thee, and say, Is there any man h'-re? that thou shalt say, No."
21 Then Jael, Heber's' wife, took a| nail of the tent, and took a hammer in her hand, and went softly unto him, anil smote the nail into his temples.and fastened it into the ground: for he was last asleep am] weary. So he died.
22 And, ^behold, as Barak pursued Sisera, Jael came out to meet him, and said unto him, Come, and I will shew thee the man whom thou seekestAnd when he came into her lent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nail was in his temples.
23 So God subdoed on that day Jabin the king of Canaan before the children of Israel.
24 And the hand of the children of Israel prospered, and prevailed against Jabin the king of Canaan, until they had destroyed Jabin king of Canaan.
