and against thee; pray unto the Lord that he take
the ferpents from us and Mofes prayed for the people.
And the Lord faid unto Mofes, Make thee a fiery fer-
pent, and fet it upon a pole: and it fhall come to pass
that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it,
fball live. And Mofes made a ferpent of brass, and
put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a ferpent
had bitten any man, when he beheld the ferpent of brass,
he lived.

against Beth-peor: but no man knoweth of his fepulchre
unto this day.

fince in Ifrael like unto Mofes, whom the Lord knew
face to face in all the figns and the wonders which the
Lord fent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh,

not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let
me fee this great fire any more, that I die not. And the

have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from
among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my

Luke ix. 28-35.-And it came to pass about an eight
days after thefe fayings, he took Peter, and John, and
James, and went up into a mountain to pray. And as
he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered,
and his raiment was white and gliftering. And behold
there talked with him two men, which were Mofes and
Elias, who appeared in glory, and fpake of his decease,
which he fhould accomplish at Ferufalem. But Peter,
and they that were with him, were heavy with fleep:
and when they were awake, they faw his glory, and the
two men that stood with him. And it came to pass, as
they departed from him, Peter faid unto Jefus, Mafter,
it is good for us to be here; and let us make three tab-
ernacles, one for thee, and one for Mofes and one for
Elias: not knowing what he faid. While he thus fpake,
there came a cloud, and overshadowed them: and
they feared as they entered into the cloud. And there
came a voice out of the cloud, faying, This is
Son, hear him.
