SOUTHERN PORTS OF ENGLAND.

"The death rate in May, 1880, at Brighton, Dawlish, Dover, Eastbourne, Ilfracombe, Little-
hampton, Penzance, Ramsgate, Ryde, Teignmouth, Torquay, Weston-super-Mare, and Worthing
did not exceed 16.5 per 1,000; affording conclusive evidence of the excellent sanitary condition of
these holiday resorts," in the South of England.

SEA WATER, in addition to common salt, contains small quantities of lime, magnesia, iodine,
and bromine; and, besides its action on the skin and joints, has a tonic, stimulant, and purgative
effect. Half a pint is a good dose, mixed with a little port wine, milk, or beef tea, to render it
palatable.
