Great book

User Review - Flag as inappropriate

This book is thoroughly dishonest. Creationists (yes, I said it) begin their talk about evolution by describing all of the problems that they have with Darwinism. There are principles of Darwin's theory that can still be found in the modern understanding of evolution, the most fundamental of them being natural selection. Go to page 68 where Dembski starts lying about evolution, he doesn't even mention natural selection. He begins outlining his version of Darwinism by saying that evolution is an "unguided" process, which is exactly wrong and he knows it! He knows that evolution is guided by natural selection, he knows that the two terms are practically synonymous.
Belief in ID is a cop-out, Dembski encourages his followers to give up on science and inquiry. That is the only logical conclusion of ID. On page 119 he states it plainly, the origin of life is a vexing "problem", his solution is to ignore the alleged problem by filling in all the questions with supernatural explanations. There are certain aspects of understanding the origin of life that could still be considered "looking through a glass darkly", there are disagreements amongst scientists in every field. Dembski is a pro at taking unknowns and turning them into problems and mistakes of scientists.

Dembski and sean mcdowell write a compelling book that shows all arguments for ID. It is written very clearly. Everyone can understand it. They use great analogies. The facts are amazing that point to an intelligent designer!
