their Agent or Receiver, or for the faid annual Sum of Forty Shillings from the Churchwardens of the faid Parish of Paddington for the Time being, fhall be allowed fuch Payments in their Accounts, by the Select Veftry of the faid Parifh of Saint George Hanover Square, or by any Perfon or Perfons authorized to take and audit fuch Accounts respectively.

V. Provided always, and it is hereby further enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That this Act, or any Thing herein contained, fhall not extend, or be conftrued, adjudged, deemed, or taken to extend, to leffen, prejudice, or defeat, any of the Rights or Fees which the present Rector of the faid Parish of Saint George Hanover Square, or any future Rector or Rectors thereof, fhall or may, or ought to have in the faid intended Burial-ground; but the faid present Rector and his Succeffors, and the Churchwardens and other Officers of the faid Parish of Saint George Hanover Square for the Time being, fhall feverally and respectively, for ever hereafter, have, take, and enjoy, from Time to Time, the like Funeral Rates and Duties, Fees, Rights, Privileges, and Profits, in, unto, out of, and from the faid Burial-ground, as now are, and have been taken and enjoyed during the Incumbency of the present Rector, for the Burial and Interment of fuch Perfon and Persons as is, are, and have been buried in the present Cemetery or Burialground now belonging to the faid Parish, or fuch Funeral Rates, Duties and Fees, as may hereafter be ordered, fettled, and established, by proper Authority: And no Rector, Parfon, Vicar, Curate, paid to any Minifter, Officer, or Servant of any other Parish whatsoever, fhall have or claim any Funeral Rate or Rates, Duty, Fee, Right, Privilege, or Profit

VI. And, in order that the Monuments, Head Penalty on Stones, or Grave Stones, which fhall at any Time deftroying hereafter be erected in the faid intended Burial- the Walls, or defacing ground, and the Infcriptions thereon, may be pre- Monuments, ferved and kept entire and undefaced, and the faid &c. Burial-ground be preserved in decent and regular Order for the Burial of the Dead; it is hereby alfo enacted by the Authority aforefaid, That if any Perfon or Perfons fhall, at any Time after the faid intended Burial-ground fhall be inclofed and ufed for the Burial of the Dead, wilfully and maliciously pull or break down the Walls or Inclosure of the faid Burial-ground; or break down or destroy any Head Stone or Grave Stone, or Monument, which fhall be therein erected; or obliterate or deface any Infcription thereon; he, she, or they fo offend ing, fhall, upon Conviction thereof before any Juftice of the Peace for the faid County, or City or Liberty of Westminster, on the Oath of One or more Witness or Witneffes, which Oath fuch Juftice is hereby authorized and required to administer, forfeit and pay to the Churchwardens of the said Parish of Saint George Hanover Square for the Time being, any Sum not exceeding Five Poundɛ, nor less than Ten Shillings, at the Difcretion of fuch Justice, to be applied in the first Place for the Repair of the Damage fo done as aforefaid, and the Refidue (if any) for the Ufe of the Poor of the faid Parish; and in cafe of Refufal or Non-payment On Non-pay thereof, fuch Juftice fhall and may commit fuch ment, OfOffender or Offenders to the Houfe of Correction for the faid County of Middlesex, City or Liberty of Westminster, there to remain, and be kept to hard Labour for any Time not exceeding One

Month, at the Discretion of fuch Justice, who is hereby authorized and required to discharge fuch Offender or Offenders, during the Time of fuch Commitment, on Payment of fuch Penalty as aforefaid.

VII. And it is hereby further enacted and declared, That this A&t fhall be deemed and taken to be a Publick A&t; and all Judges, Justices, and other Persons, are to take Notice thereof as fuch, in all Courts and Places whatsoever, without fpecially pleading the fame.

An Act to render effectual the Purchase of a Houfe, fituate in the Parish of Saint Luke Chelsea, in the County of Middlesex, to be used as an additional Workhoufe for the Parish of Saint George Hanover Square, within the Liberty of the City of Westminster; and for other Purposes.

WE

HEREAS the Workhoufe of the Parish of Preamble. Saint George Hanover Square, within the Liberty of the City of Westminster, has been found too small for the Reception of the Poor belonging to the faid Parish: And whereas no proper House could be purchased for a Workhouse, at a reasonable Price, within the faid Parish, a House, fituate within the Parish of Saint Luke Chelfea, in the County of Middlefex, formerly in the Poffeffion of Luttrell Wynne Doctor of Laws, and late of William Virtac, hath been purchased, and conveyed to the Reverend Henry Reginald Courtenay Doctor of Laws, Rector of the Rectory of the said Parish of

Perfons who

have applied

wards the faid Purchase are

indemnified.

Saint George Hanover Square, and the Right Honourable Frederick Lord Boflon, and Jervoife Clarke Jervoife Efquire, Churchwardens of the faid Parish, and their Heirs in Truft, and for the Benefit of the Parishioners of the faid Parish of Saint George Hanover Square; and the fame is now made use of as an additional Workhoufe for the Poor of the faid Parish, and the Purchase Money hath been paid out of the Money raised by the Rates made for the Relief of the Poor; but although the Purchase of the said House was highly proper, and for the Benefit of the Inhabitants of the faid Parish, yet, as the fame is not fituate within the faid Parish, fuch Purchase cannot be rendered effectual for the Purpose intended, without the Aid of Parliament: May it therefore please Your Majesty that it may be enacted; and be it enacted by the King's most Excellent Majefty, by and with the Advice and Confent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this prefent Parliament affembled, and by the Authority of the fame, That the Purchafe of the faid Houfe, and the Ground and other Appurtenances thereunto belonging, within the said Parish of Saint Luke Chelsea, thall be, and is hereby confirmed and established, as fully and effectually as if the fame were fituate within the faid Parish of Saint George Hanover Square.

II. And be it further enacted, That all Perfons who have applied any of the Money raised by the Rates made for the Relief of the Poor of the faid Parish of Saint George Hanover Square, for or towards the purchafing of the faid Houfe, and the Ground and other Appurtenances thereunto belonging, and in altering and fitting up the faid House, and making use of the fame as an additional Workhoufe for the Poor of the faid Parifh, or in
