ledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

He went to live for a time in the neighbourhood of Pensillian, in order to be near Willie; but when Lady Tresillian died at a good old age, leaving an annuity to the younger brother, they both left Cornwall for Scotland, and settled for the remainder of their lives in "bonnie Liddesdale," where the grocer's third son was now a well-to-do farmer.

There, then, we leave them living quietly and contentedly, after the many strange vicissitudes of their chequered careers, during which they were tossed hither and thither on the tide of life, even as Flotsam and Jetsam are drifted on the ocean waves; but, unlike what often occurs to those inanimate objects, our

brothers at last reached the "Haven where they would be" in this world, and we trust also that other in the world to come, where all is peace and rest for ever

more.
