missioners of our Land Office, adopted on the twentysixth day of July, A.D. one thousand eight hundred and seventy-one, pursuant to the above-recited statute, we have given and granted, and by these presents do give and grant, unto the Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York, all the property, right, title and interest of the People of this State in and to the land under water, bounded and described as follows, viz.:

All the land covered by water of the North or Hudson river, lying between the easterly side of West street, in the City of New York, and an exterior line defined as follows, viz.: Beginning at a point on the prolongation of the east side of West street, five hundred feet south of the northeast corner of Battery place and West street; thence running one thousand feet westward at right angles to the east line of West street produced; thence parallel with the east line of West street, and one thousand feet distant therefrom, until said line intersects the north line of West Eleventh street prolonged.

Also, all the property, right, title and interest of the People of the State of New York in the land covered by water of the North or Hudson river lying within and easterly of an exterior line defined as follows, to wit: Beginning at a point on the north side of West Eleventh street produced, and one thousand feet west of the east line of Thirteenth avenue, measured at right angles to the said east line of Thirteenth avenue; running thence parallel with the east line of Thirteenth avenue and one thousand feet west thereof as far as opposite to the inter

section of Thirteenth and Twelfth avenues; thence parallel with and one thousand feet west from the east line of Twelfth avenue until said line intersects the south line of One Hundred and Fifty-first street; thence northerly and parallel with the bulkhead line established in the Hudson river, by chapter seven hundred and sixtythree (763), Laws of one thousand eight hundred and fiftyseven (1857), and one thousand feet westerly therefrom to a point opposite the centre line of the block between Two Hundred and Fifteenth and Two Hundred and Sixteenth streets; thence in a convex curve to a point on the Hudson River Railway Bridge crossing Spuyten Duyvil Creek, one hundred feet north of the pier-head line established by the act, chapter 763 (seven hundred and sixty-three) of the laws of 1857 (one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven); thence on a line parallel with and one hundred feet outside of the said pier-head line along Spuyten Duyvil Creek and the Harlem river to Harlem Bridge, at Third avenue and One Hundred and Thirtieth

street.

Also, all the property, right, title and interest of the People of the State of New York in the land covered by water lying within and westerly of an exterior line defined as follows: Beginning at the intersection at the west line of the west pier of the Staten Island Ferry, East river, with the north line of the new United States Barge Basin; thence following said west line of said pier to a point eight hundred feet southerly from said point of beginning; thence on a convex curve to a point eight

hundred feet distant from the southeast corner of Whitehall and South streets, measured on the prolongation of the lower end of the northeast side of Whitehall street; thence to a point eight hundred feet outside of the corner of South street and Coenties slip (at old pier number 6), and measured at right angles to South street; thence in a curve to a point eight hundred feet outside of the corner of South street and Coenties slip at old pier number eight (8); thence parallel with and eight hundred feet distant from the westerly line of South street to a point opposite Roosevelt street, at old pier number 29 (twenty-nine), thence to a point on the prolongation of the southerly side of Catharine street, eight hundred feet from its junction with South street; thence parallel with and seven hundred feet distant from the inner or westerly line of South street to a point on the prolongation of the southerly side of Montgomery street; thence around Corlear's Hook to foot of Grand street three hundred feet outside of the pier-head line established by the act, chapter 763 (seven hundred and sixty-three), Laws of 1857 (one thousand eight hundred and fifty-seven), and parallel therewith until said line intersects the prolongation of the south line of East Sixty-fifth street; thence parallel with and one hundred feet outside of the said pier-head line until said line intersects the prolongation of the north line of East Eighty-ninth street; thence parallel with and three hundred feet outside of said pier-head line until said line intersects the prolongation of the north line of East Ninety-ninth street; thence parallel with and one hundred

and fifty feet outside of said pier-head line until said line intersects the prolongation of the north line of East One Hundred and Seventeenth street; thence parallel with and one hundred feet outside of said pier-head line to the Harlem Bridge at Third avenue and One Hundred and

Thirtieth street.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, we have caused these our Letters to be made Patent, and the Great Seal of our said State to be hereunto affixed.

WILLIAM WOOD, Treasurer pro tem., Department of Docks, in account with the Mayor, Aldermen and Commonalty of the City of New York, for and during the year ending April 30, 1872.

To balance, viz. :

Debit.

Amount of rents due and unpaid April 30, 1871, as charged
upon existing leases on wharf property, belonging to City
of New York, consisting principally of claims in the hands
of the Counsel to the Corporation for suit, prior to May 20,
1870, at which time the Comptroller transferred to this De-
partment for collection arrearages of rent amounting to
$112,077.00.

Cash in bank to the credit of the Department.

April 30.. To amount of rents accrued and charged from May 1, 1871, to April 30, 1872, to the respective parties by whom the same were payable..

30.. To amount received from the Comptroller of the City of New
York, being proceeds of sale of Dock Bonds issued in accord-
ance with requisitions of the Commissioners of Docks.

30..To amount allowed as interest on deposits..
