It seems a long, long time ago But months and years are passing by, For day by day, as minutes fly, Eternity comes on. Days, months, and years, must have an end, Eternity has none; 'T will always have as long to spend As when it first begun! Great God! an infant cannot tell How such a thing can be: I only pray that I may dwell That long, long time with Thee. PRAYER FOR THE BEGINNING OF A YEAR. O HEAVENLY FATHER, grant me grace that I may begin this new year with new desires to please Thee, and to do Thy holy will in all things. Pardon, O Lord, all my past sins, and assist me by Thy holy spirit, to live more to Thy honour and glory. May I remember that life is short and uncertain, and though I am now strong and well, I know not how soon sickness and death may come. Perhaps before the close of another year I may be called to give an account of myself to God. O may I do it with joy and not with grief. May I, whilst I live, seek, above all other things, to please Thee, and to walk in the way of Thy commandments. I desire to place my only trust in Jesus Christ, my blessed Saviour. O grant that I may be cleansed from all my sins in His precious blood, and that I may daily be made more and more fit to dwell with Thee among the saints and angels in heaven, and serve Thee, as they do, for ever and ever. Amen. AROUND the throne of God in heaven, Singing glory, glory, glory. In flowing robes of spotless white And joys that never fade. Singing glory, glory, glory. Once they were little things like you, Singing glory, glory, glory. What brought them to that world above? Singing glory, glory, glory. Because the Saviour shed His blood Bathed in that pure and precious flood, Singing glory, glory, glory. On earth they sought their Saviour's grace, Singing glory, glory, glory.
