That [firm posture] being acquired, the movements of inhalation and exhalation
should be controlled. This is pranayama. After mastering the posture, we must
practice control of prana by controlling the motions of inhalation and exhalation.
In the same way, while we talk to one another we use up our human electricty —
the prana — and have to put more in. Our breathing system is the dynamo. We
inhale in order to take in more prana to maintain the battery at a certain level.
